Rene-François de La Noue-Vieuxpont, born in Paris in 1684, third son of
Jacques (above) and Catherine de Vieuxpont. Captain of Dragons in the Regiment of the Queen. In 1728,
after the death of his first cousin, the marquis de
Vieuxpont, the last of this famous House, he embraced the names and
weapons of Vieuxpont. In 1713, he married Marie-Madeleine
de Fiennes-le-Carlier, young Lady of Picardy. Children:
Gabriel-François who follows, Guillaume-Alexandre,
General Vicar of Meaux and abbot commendatory of Saint-Sévérin;
Jean-Marie, Colonel and Knight of Saint-Louis,
N... de La Noue-Vieuxpont, known as the Knight de La Noue, Assistant
Captain Major in the Regiment of
Marcieu Cavalry, mortally wounded in the battle of Mindem in 1759;
Stanislas-Louis, deceased in 1760 Lieutenant- Colonel
of Infantry, Commander the Volunteers of the Army of the Marshal of
Broglie. He authored «New Military Constitutions
». Mortally wounded in a combat in Westphalia. Francoise Gervaise,

Francoise, and René- Joseph born in 1731, deceased in 1820. Second
Lieutenant in the Regiment of the Crown
in 1744, Captain in 1757, Knight of Saint-Louis in 1761, Colonel in
1771, Sergeant of the Armies in 1781, Marshal
in 1788, Lieutenant-General in 1792. He did not perish on the
revolutionary stage and he had a son who did not possess posterity. François-Marc who will follow:

Gabriel-François, Count, born in 1714, deceased in 1779 Colonel
Inspector controlling the militia guarding the coasts of
Brittany, Knight of Saint-Louis, Ambassador Plenipotentiary,
General-Major and Chamberlain of the Prince-Voter of
Cologne, married Marie-Marguerite Chevalier, was without posterity.

François-Marc de La Noue-Vieuxpont born in 1738 in Nantes, seventh son
of Rene-François, and deceased in 1784 in
the county of Greene, in North Carolina. Married Agnès N ... in the
county of Greene in 1758. They had five children. From Nantes, departed for Guyana in 1756 at the time when ambitious
attempts at colonization failed in view of climatic
conditions. The members of the failed colony of Kourou left Guyana for
North Carolina in 1757. François became Francis
de La Noue. The change in the first name and of the particle was due
to immigration and English language requirements. His elder son was:

Jean D. De La Ney, Sr (John 1759-1822) He lived his whole life in the
county of Greene in North Carolina (today part
of Tennessee). Changed his name legally by the court of the County of
Greene in 1801. Reason given was the difficult
pronunciation of his name in English and the female spelling of his
first name.Children:

John De La Ney, Jr. (1784- . .) Born on the 4th of March in Tennessee.
Married Ruth Shernée on 26 July 1789 in Hardin in
Decatur County, Tennessee. Deceased 22 March 1867 in Tennessee. They
had eleven children, some follow:

Lofton King De La Ney, (1820-1898) Born 25 June in Tennessee and
deceased 16 July in Sardis, Tennessee. In 1842,
married Mary Caroline Ch... (1825-1865). Deceased 12 December in Sardis
Tennessee. Interred in Lebanon Cemetary.

Ira Lofton De La Ney, (1849-1921) Born 25 July , deceased 22 February
in McLemoresville, Tennessee. On 25 November
1872 married Rébecca Laura England, born 17 October 1855, deceased in
July 1936 in Alamo, Tennessee. They had eight children, some follow:

Edward McLemore De La Ney, (1875-1914) Born eight October, deceased 5
December in Oak Cliff Texas, (close to
Dallas). On 24 June 1903 married Catherine McComas of Paris, Texas.
They had three children, one follows:

Pierre Louis Jean de La Noue du Vair (1907-1945) Born 8 February in
Holcomb Missouri. Deceased 11 April in Mehltheuer,
Germany. Lived as young man in Louisiana. Since the age of nine,
considering himself as French, in 1927 age
of 19 he went and lived in France. He is interred in the Lutheran
church in Bernsgrün. He repatriated the lineage and
took again the name de La Noue adding to it "du Vair". He was duly
listed by the French Army (3rd office of
recruitment of the Seine) in the accordance with the class 1927. He was
excused because of his doctorate studies in
Rome. He was called up to serve in the military service on 15 October
1935. In the beginning of the Second World
War, he served as an officer with the 152nd
Infantry Regiment (know as the famous Red Devils) based in Colmar
in Alsace. The first regiment in France that fought so well against the
Germans in Rethel in May 1940. He was
mortally wounded during a bombardment on 11 May 1945. His marriage to
Catherine Henrica Bussmann on 5 January
1935 in St-Louis, MO produced seven children: Catherine-Pebble,
Pierre-Henri, Paul-Marie, Marie-Madeleine,
Genevieve, Philippe and Jacques-Germain.

Pierre Henri de La Noue du Vair (1936- . .) Born 8 December in Colmar,
France. Married to Ghislaine ... from Quebec.
In 1997, lived the first part of the year in Quebec and the remainder
in France. Count. His name is recorded as
Pierre Du Vair.
